I spy...Reliance

Post by wikakaru »

I spy with my little eye...

On July 25, 2020, I spied the Cape Dory 28 (?) Reliance sailing through Fox Islands Thorofare.

Smooth sailing,

You are probably right. There was no insignia on the sail, so I started comparing the number of port holes and stopped when I got to the CD28 which had 4. I totally missed that the CD28 is a sloop and this one is a cutter. Could it also be a 31? Looking at the line drawings I can't tell the difference between the 30C and the 31.

Too bad the Cape Dory Registry doesn't include vessel name.

Oh how I wish people would put insignias on their sails when they get a new one made!

Maybe the owner will set us straight.

Smooth sailing,

Definately not a 31. The Membership Directory lists the information by the members name and also the boats name and fleet. A very handy item to keep aboard as it also has an identification guide.
