CD36 Aft Turning Blocks (Sheet Cheek Blocks)

Post by jahouck »

Hi,
Does anyone have a source or recommendation for replacement jib sheet turning blocks? Mine are completely seized; I searched through Shaefer, but all they have is their standard cheek blocks.

Do a search on the forum. Someone else had a similar issue and I posted a bunch of photos about how to take them apart and rebuild them. Pretty simple. I think it’s been in the last two years.

yup. John got the right link. I would encourage you to read the entire thread before proceeding, and note the reference to Joy at Schaefer and the part numbers.

Thanks John!
I searched, but didn't think to look under foot blocks.
This is exactly what I was looking for; cheers!

Great. Should be useful so you can make an informed decision. I’d be reluctant to replace the shafer blocks unless they are not repairable. They are not sexy but they are generally very strong and can be maintained and usually repaired if necessary.
