1978 CD 28 (sloop w/club-foot jib) for sale in San Diego CA. I have owned this boat for approx. 16 years. I believe her to be the best Cape Dory 28 on the West Coast. Upgrades:

Mechanical: re-powered with a new Beta Marine 14 diesel engine & transmission (has less than 50 hours), dripless shaft seal installed, new prop, anchor windlass rebuilt and repainted (powder coat) as well as mast winches

Electronics: SIMRAD mast-mounted radar, GPS, depth sounder, two 12v batteries

pedestal wheel steering (recently serviced)

Boatyard work: new Ritchie compass, all through hull valves replaced w/brass ball vlvs, mast & both booms primed/painted, original electronic wiring replaced, new LED masthead, deck lights, standing & running rigging, through hulls for original knot meter & depth sounder removed/plugged, through hull valves for head S/W intake & discharge removed/plugged. Original S/W hand pump toilet replaced with Composting Head (no smell, or separate holding tank)

Miscellaneous: rigid stainless steel boom vang, original varnished folding teak table in good condition securely stored in stbd hanging locker, emergency tiller, decks/hull/interior professionally painted, new tinted plexiglass main cabin skylight & fwd hatch (frame repainted w/new hardware), below decks port/stbd teak hand sanded. New 2 burner Orico alcohol stove, all interior cushions replaced/upholstered, cockpit cushions, 2 life vests, new sunbrella dodger, hatch covers, cockpit lee cloth & cockpit tent w/pole, canvas boat cover, folding swim ladder

Sails; good condition: Main, Jib & two other extra jib sails.
