Deux Amis is a 1980 Cape Dory 27 at Herrington Harbor North in Deale, MD. We're unexpectedly moving to Charlotte, NC around the beginning of the year and, unfortunately, it probably doesn't make sense for us to ship her down to an inland lake or the coast. She's a great boat - we've spent almost every weekend this season sailing her with great daysails and a trip to St Michaels. She's ready to sail away. Included with the boat:
- Original Yanmar YSM-8 diesel motor
- Almost new, Quantum mainsail with reefing point
- Harken furling jib with 135 geneoa in good condition
- Raytheon ST2000+ autotiller
- Lazy jacks
- New canvas sail cover and dodger
- Two new batteries
- 30 amp shore power
- Folding maxi prop
- GPS, depth sounder
The teak cockpit combing and toe rail need a new finish coat, but otherwise the boat looks good. The deck is very solid. The bottom will probably need to be repainted this offseason. I have a survey that was completed in July 2019 and shows no major issues.
She's scheduled to be hauled out the week of November 4th - I'm happy to meet you out at Herrington Harbor for a test sail between now and then.
