To All CDSOA Central Gulf Fleet Members,
The past history of the Central Gulf Fleet indicates that while we all like to sail, what we really like to do is eat. Our tentative schedule of events for 2020 as approved at the November meeting will therefore be built around the menu as follows;
Saturday 22 February; Chili cook off. Buck Monroe, Sue Kuhar, And Mike Connell have been the regular contestants, and while everybody ends up too full and satisfied to vote on the winner, we could use a few new entries this year.
Saturday 25 April; Dauphin Island race and end of race party and on-board potluck dinner.
Saturday 13 June; Summer meeting and luncheon at either Fairhope Yacht Club or Pensacola Yacht Club. Order off the menu.
Friday and Saturday 11, 12 September; Point Yacht Club Raft up and fish fry. Friday night anchorage in Bayou Ingram.
Sunday 15 November; End of year steak cookout with all the trimmings, fleet elections, 2021 planning meeting and lots of sea stories.
Details as to times and locations, as well as requests for assistance in carrying out the events will be forthcoming as each event draws near. We hope you will all plan to attend as many of these events as possible.
A reminder that these events are funded in part by a portion of your CDSOA dues. The fleet disbursement is calculated on the number of currently paid members at the beginning of the year. If you are late in paying your 2020 dues it will cut into our Dark & Stormy reserve account. Please get your dues in this week.
