cd 33 stuffing box tube

I'm confused about the construction on my cd 33.
The stuffing box goes into the forward end of a rubber tube and secured with hose clamps. The aft end of the rubber tube has no hose clamps nor is there room for any as the hull narrows down tight to it.
What is involved in replacing that tube besides shaft disassembly?
