Not suggesting you re-establish the aperture on your boat for your intended use - just ruminating on one positive characteristic that props in apertures do have ...

No worries Fred. Concur about the advantages of the aperture...especially slow speed handling. There was a moment I reconsidered before I drilled the hole.... but that ship has now definitely sailed. :D
