Re: Cape Dory 27
Hi there, my 1983 CD27 is for sale in the For Sale thread. It is in great shape and was one of the last built. Let me know if I can provide any more info. Best, Ted

Ted, nice boat, but I am looking for a tiller-steered boat. Would this be an easy conversion? Thanks, John

John, I am sure its possible, but honestly with the effort required you are better finding one with the tiller from the factory.

Have a Cape Dory 28 with tiller. Currently on hard with fresh bottom paint, waxed and fresh varnish. Ready to splash and take anywhere.

You might also consider the Cape Dory 26. Tiller. Outboard concealed in the lazarette well. I have one at Herrington Harbour on the Chesapeake if you want to get a feel for it.
I set sail in the confident hope of a miracle
Re: Cape Dory 27
My wife and I bought Deux Amis, a 1980 CD27 early this season. She's at Herrington Harbor North and been a great boat for us so far. I'm the third owner and had the boat surveyed when I bought it. Original YSM8, tiller steering, furling jib, auto tiller, shore power and in good condition. The bottom will need to be sanded and painted this winter and the cockpit combing and toe rail could use new finish coat - other than that she looks good. We've been sailing her all season and have had a fantastic time.
We spent a good deal if time cleaning her up and doing basic maintenance (impeller, oil, new batteries, etc.)
Unexpectedly, we will be moving to either Charlotte, Raleigh or Charleston in the next few months. I had been planning to ship the boat to wherever we end up, but if you're still looking, it may be worth a discussion.
I sent you a private message with my contact information if you are interested.
Thanks,
Dan
