I have a very old, out-of-warranty Raymarine ST 2000 tiller pilot. I have not used it for several years, because I started getting a "2000" error code, which means inadequate voltage. I finally replaced the wiring and the plug--and my multimeter tells me I'm getting good voltage (12.53 volts).
But when I connect the unit, the screen is completely blank--and there's no beep. My assumption is that there's some kind of problem with the unit itself.
Since I live within a relatively easy drive to Raymarine's repair facility in Nashua, NH, I'd like to know what experiences people have had with that facility. My tiller pilot is old enough that I no longer have the box it came in.
Any feedback?
Thanks,
--Joe

Re: Raymarine service question
On the several occasions I've had exactly that problem, it's always been due to inadequate grounding. See if you can test your unit on another boat. My guess is that it will work just fine.

Re: Raymarine service question
I went thru two of those . If You use them alot they seem to last about 3 years. Others have agreed. That is still way worth it . They are so simple and easy to use. Once I had a problem with the female connection jack. It worked fine after I replace that.
