The cabin sole/ floor core is rotted and fiberglass is delaminated. Elsewhere it seems solid by hammer tapping except possibly companionway wall which has some bounce to the hammer on tapping. Deck is 100% ok
Is the cabin floor of any structural significance ?
Thanks for any opinions

Re: Cd typhoon cabin sole core problem
The companionway wall is usually hollow, no core. I wouldn't think the cabin floor would be much of a structural member but would think you would want it solid for walking on. Is it that bad? Strange I would think that area would be the last to delaminate unless the boat was sunk or filled with water at one time.

Thanks ! Am relieved to hear companionway wall is hollow. There has on occaision been some water on the floor as it seems to come in from the companionway, when no mooring cover was used.
