Volvo MD7A and Walter V-drive question - HELP

Post by rowland »

On my 1977 CD30K, with stated engine and gear, the seawater cooling oulet to the V-drive has a small flange with a four inch piece of 1/2" OD bent pipe sticking out that is connected by hose to the seawater pump. The flange thing has corroded, and I need to replace it. The previous owner gave me a source, which was a dead end. I have tried Volvo, Walter, and several others, and I am close to fabricating my own.

Has anyone out there had to replace theirs? How did you do it??

Thanks in advance.

Try Dipietro International (Mass.?) for Volvo parts. Looking around, I don't have their number handy, but do have it at home if you need it. Leave a msg.*here*, and I will repost from home with addr/phone.

Well, I went to West Marine, as another poster had suggested, and found a 1/2" npt fitting with hose barb to replace the flange. Simple. Thanks for all your replies.
