S/V Sunset is now on the hard in Quincy MA for the winter. Contact me if you want to see her.

This boat needs a good home. Price reduced! yet again...

FOR SALE: S/V Sunset
1976 Cape Dory 25 sailboat. Hull # 332

S/V Sunset is a 25 ft. sloop rigged, four berth cruiser with v-berth, enclosed head, hanging storage, cabin with side benches, sink, ice box, and cooking area. Currently out of the water in Quincy MA.

The tiller steering, full keel, and traditional design make it great for learning to sail and exploring your local waters. 4 adults fit easily in the cockpit for day sailing. Weekend trips are possible for 2-3 people.

Hull stripped, sealed and re-painted with anti-fouling paint 2019.
4 stroke, 6 hp. long shaft Tohatsu outboard w/fuel tank (serviced late 2018).
Manual bilge pump (Whale) rebuilt with new diaphragm and seals 2018.
New battery cables and 4 position battery switch installed in 2017.
New Main sheet 2017. New halyards (jib and main) installed in 2016.
Cockpit sole repaired/repainted in 2015.
V-berth cushions re-upholstered in 2014.
Standing rigging replaced in 2013 (or 2012).

Also included:
Stern mounted, boarding ladder. One burner, alcohol stove (Origo). VHF Radio
2 anchors:
Bruce type with chain and road. Very secure.
fluke backup (w/mount on rear railing).
12v battery (Odyssey, sealed lead acid).
Used sails: 3 jibs (1 is a Genoa), 1 mainsail with cover.
Various dock lines, fenders and cushions.
MOB (man overboard) horseshoe life ring with rail mount rack

L.O.A.: 24' 10" Sail Area: 264 sq. ft. Years Built 1972 - 1982
L.W.L.: 18' 0" Mast Height: 31 1/2' No. Built 846
Beam: 7' 3" Displacement: 4000 lbs. Designer: George Stadel
Draft: 3' 0" Ballast: 1700 lbs.

If I didn't already own a CD 25, I would buy this one. It looks like a great deal.

Can be viewed at a distance in Quincy, I will meet you and unlock the ladder and cabin if you want to inspect it.

Solid CD25 for sale, winter storage paid (and winter is over). Corona virus and social distancing... still a problem.

Can be viewed at a distance in Quincy, I will meet you and unlock the ladder and cabin if you want to inspect it.

For what is worth what a great deal! During this off season, I have seen this boat everyday on the hard at our marina in Quincy, MA, part of my walking route.

Good looking Cape Dory 25.

We will be on the water soon! :D

S/v Sunset was sold to someone from Gloucester who sailed her up there.

Sorry for the slow notice, it was a couple months ago.
