Bringing a CD to europe my self is not an option. And I´m not even sure if I want it yet. I´ll find out if the norwegian owner is the same visiting your board a few years ago saturday. First look in less than 48 hours. Exciting.

Gabriel,
I agree that crossing the North Atlantic and North Sea in a Cape Dory would be a bit adventurous. Perhaps you can find one near you, or maybe in the UK.

Thank you very much for your helpful responses, but I am not going to be a CD owner I´m afraid. The boat I inspected today (hull 255) was not in a condition for me. Too many things to do to get her seaworthy for my use at my budget. But - I loved the looks and design irl too, and for the right person it might be a perfect project. From memory: The owner said the boat was sold new in US, but went for long cruising pretty soon before it ended up in UK where he bought it from. As far as he knows there is this CD30C in Norway, and one in the Netherlands, so I have to go for another brand. I wish you all a happy life with your beautiful boats. Greetings from Norway :-)

Gabriel,
There are many fine, seaworthy sailboats in Europe. I'm sure you'll find one to suit you.

Best of luck,

Yes, there are many boats to choose from and many are coming for sale after the holidays now. I´ll find one for me, but I like the CD so much that I feel a little sad too.

Thanks for your generous offer :-) Noted. The price asked was 18 000 USD, and it would have been a fair price in this market if it was ready to use, and seaworthy. Far too many things just needed a "minor and cheap fix", oilleak from the engine with only 19 hours on it and much more. In case the seller still roams here, and because it´s a boat deserving the right owner, I will conclude with this verdict: When selling a boat you should give a potential buyer a realistic impression of the standard before inspection, you should make the effort to store the fenders used last year somewhere else than where they accidently landed on deck before hauling out, maybe not answer questions about the noticeable play in the whole steering gear claiming that some play is a sign of a healthy system and answering the question about why he never have had the mast down, or climbed up with: "You should be glad of that", without further explaining :-)
