Transducer problems

Post by GeorgeH »

Transducer problems?

Two years ago I had my CD28's original Datamarine depth sounder (S-2000DL) rebuilt by DMI. When I reinstalled it, it would still would not register any depth and keeps returning error messages.

I assume I have a problem with the transducer since the main unit has been checked out twice. Other than a crimped wire to the transducer what are other things I can do to check or test?

Would appreciate any advice.

If it worked before and was “re-built” I would say the rebuild was the problem. If it wasn’t working and still doesn’t work than the issue wasn’t the unit, but the transducer...

You should check for an electrical signal coming from the transducer using a meter.
