CD 27 Turnbuckle Size

Post by jneely »

I need to replace the body on the aft lower turnbuckle on our CD27 Troika. The tread size does not match any normal bolt. Does anyone know the specs for this turnbuckle. All replies appreciated.

I don't have a CD27 but according to the specs the lowers are 5/32" wire. The turnbuckles are probably either 1/4"-28 thread or 5/16"-24. Note both of these are UNF (fine thread) rather than the more common UNC (course thread). They are still a standard size, just not as common.

Unfortunately there is always the possibility that something was changed by a previous owner. Metric turnbuckles do exist so anything is possible.

Replace the whole turnbuckle. It’s safer that way.
