Is the outboard installed in the lazarette? I think that the 22 is the best looking CD, spoiled only by a big ugly outboard hanging off the stern. Cutting out the lazarette always seemed like a good idea. I remember that someone posted such a modification a few years ago.

It looks great. I have owned a bunch of boats and the only one that I regret selling was a CD 22 - one of the ones with a big ugly outboard hanging off the back.

Same. I had a Ty Sr. and miss it often. Sadly I moved several states away and had to sell it-only to move back a few years later! @#%$!! Really beautiful boat, thanks for posting, and nice job on the outboard well.

Incompletely furled jibs are a peeve of mine. I see so many boats moored or docked with a big flap of jib exposed. I always go for 3 or 4 turns of the sheet around the jib and evenly tensioned. I use a cam cleat for the furler line but always put a couple of hitches in to back it up when I leave the boat. If I am expecting a blow of any kind then the furler drum gets tied off as well. Boats that leave out an excessive amount of jib will suffer sun damage to the sail. Leave out enough for the wind to get a hold of and there is a good chance you will be kissing the sail goodbye. Yours was fine unless there was a storm forecasted. I feel it is just good seamanship to wrap it up tight as a matter of habit.
