I would like opinions on the best Internet sailboat advertising service. I have seen comments on earlier posting but can't find the right keywords.
I need to sell my 1977 CD25.
Thanks in Advance.

Dave ,
I like Sounding's internet classified. They have a great search engine and there are always pictures of Cape Dorys.

Your looking at it ! I mentioned on this site about a year ago we were selling our '78 CD25 and got 7or8 buyers to come look her over, it was gone to the first sailor.I turned away e-mails till June .Soundings gets alot of exposure if you can wait for the next edition. Also don't overlook local boatyards-put up a notice. The boat has a following and this is the time of year to sell it.

I bought my Cape Dory 28 in Sept 2000 after seeing it advertised on Yachtworld.com. I searched many sights for over a year and found this sight to have the most listings of CD's (this may not be the case currently).

I spent a good year searching the net for for a CD25. The site with the most CD listings is and has been for at least the past 18 months, Yachtworld.com. I believe they are all brokerage listings. The next best site is starboardtack.com. They do not actually have the next best listing, but they do have links to all the major listings, both brokerage and private. Spend some time looking them over and decide which ones you want to list on. If you go with a broker, ask where she/he lists on the net. One thing I have noticed is that the majority of boats remain for quite some time. This mail exchange is also a great place to list. Anybody looking for a CD will find this site pretty quickly and we all direct buyers to it. Finally, you can create your own website. If you have the inclination you can produce a pretty flashy site with color photos. I came across a few good ones when I was shopping. I would go to Altavista or Yahoo or whatever your favorite search engine is and do a search on Cape Dory or Cape Dory sail. I even got a few hits on CD25 and CD27.
