Cape Dory 30 Ketch on City Island

I'm planning on going and looking at a CD30K on City Island that's for sale for a, shall we say, suspiciously low price. I was wondering if anyone knew of the boat, or maybe had even gone to look at it, before I make the 4+ hour trip up. It looks nice in the pictures but they could be old and they only show one side of the boat. I have scoured every inch of the internet looking for any information on this boat and have found only one indirect reference here on the forum. She's at Barron's yard.

Also, does anyone know a good surveyor in the NYC area?

This is the only reference I see on the forum. Perhaps the email is still active and it may help to speak directly to the present/previous owner. The Yachtworld listing is pretty much useless.

Thanks for finding that, Jim. I didn't find that reference, because I spelled the name like it was spelled in the ad (in retrospect that spelling doesn't make much sense). The boat is listed through Barron's and I'm a little concerned about pissing off either the owner or the broker by bypassing the broker and contacting the owner directly. I also have no experience buying through a broker so I don't know what to expect. Maybe I could ask the broker if I could e-mail the owner directly?

I remember back around 2001 Leo MacDonald had a Cape Dory Ketch, believe it was a 30. Try searching this board for his posts.
