I am having my old water pump inspected as part of a rebuild for the YM8 engine. My old pump looked worn so I just purchased a new one from KKM, the Yanmar Dealer in Point Richmond, CA. I paid $500 for the new version and I suspect that you don't care to pony up that much. I my mechanic, Bill's Marine Service, decides he can rebuild the old pump successfully, I'm pretty sure yours can be rebuilt. My old pump had significant wear but it was still functioning well enough to keep the engine from overheating. I'll let you know here what the outcome is. Maybe I can recoup some of my costs by selling you the rebuilt pump.
