Hello everyone,
I'm just about to purchase a CD25D: 1982 and was wondering about any issues
I need to be concerned with. THe boat seems to be sound except for spider cracking
on the deck -- does not seem to have gone into the core. Is spider cracking a problem
with the early 25Ds?
Are there any differences between the early and later 25s?
Also, there seems to be a small leak in the starboard locker into the quarter-berth -- is that
a problem others have had?
Any suggestions about other things to look for?
What is the typical stove people use? The pressurized alcohol will be replaced but I'm not
sure with what.
Thanks.

Re: CD25D Issues
Hi Mike;
I also have a 25D. There is a lot of information on this board already about your questions. Try doing a search on "25D" , or "gelcoat" for the general stuff, and "Kenyon", "alcohol", or "stove replacement" for cooking options...

Re: CD25D Issues
Welcome aboard.
I've got 25D #95 (83) I've noticed no spider cracks on my deck, and no leaks into my quarter berth.
Of course, you should get your boat surveyed before you buy.
If you have a plastic owner's plate mounted in the center of your campanionway, Bristol Bronze has made bronze replacements which look elegant.

Perhaps the leak you describe is coming through a stanchion post base. These areas are often the location of leaks and need to be rebeded from time to time.I hope your sale goes through, she's a fine little sloop.

Re: CD25D Issues
Mike,
I, also, have a slight leak in the quarter berth, on the engine-side bulkhead. I think I've traced it to the teak box in the stb seat locker. a little water collects against that box -- probably from wind-driven rain. I'm going to life caulk the seam to see if that helps. The area is quite obvious when the area is still wet.
