Given that information, the HIN that you provided (CPOK0060M81) cannot be for the boat with a builder plate that is 1771. One of the two are wrong.Tstec wrote:My boat is a Typhoon weekender not a day sailer. The number on my boat's Cape Dory builders plate is 1771.
The Typhoon Weekender would have a D as the 4th digit. This HIN is for a Typhoon Daysailer Model K, that is Hull #0060, not Model D #1771. The Typhoon Model Ks are the Daysailer version w a small cuddy and no portholes. They have the same hull as the Weekender but there are notable differences in the cuddy (no portholes or v berth) and cockpit (not self draining being the most notable).
I used to own the following Typhoons:
- CPDD1324M77G (Ty Weekender, Model D, Hull 1324, built in 1977)
- CPDD1156V76C (Ty Weekender, Model D, Hull 1156, built in 1976)
- CPDK004M79D (Ty Daysailer, Model K w cuddy, Hull 0004, built in 1979)
- CPDD0057M70? (Weekender, Model D, Hull 57, built in 1970). This HIN may be incorrect.
Again, pictures would really help solve this mystery.
