Typhoon mover in NE? Or rent a Typhoon trailer? Maine --> RI

Post by calderp »

I have a Typhoon in Rockland, ME and I might be working out a deal with a guy in Portsmouth, RI. I told him I would get some estimates on trucking costs and I'm wondering if anyone on the board has a recommendation. Since it's such a small boat relative to most I imagine he would save a lot of money if I can find someone who specializes in small boats versus paying typical mileage rates for a big trailer.
Alternately I would be happy to drive it there myself but the trailer I use for launching and retrieving is not highway legal and I would need to rent one. Is there anyone on the boat in Maine whose boat is on a mooring for the summer that might consider this?

I have a trailer for my typhoon senior that could work possibly--might be worth a look anyway. It's at my house in Camden. You'd be welcome to borrow it. Doesn't have brakes but I believe you'd be under the weight requirements for that--better check Maine, Mass. RI DMV. Trailer is registered and I personally replaced all the wheel bearings after buying it in 2013 (since then it only travels the four miles to the harbor and back from my house).

There is one support pad that needs to be replaced (https://shop.hamiltonmarine.com/product ... 43015.html). Other than that it's ready to roll.

PM me if you're interested.

Thanks very much for the offer! The person in RI found a boat closer to home so I don't need to get it down there anymore.
