CD27 Launch and sailed after 15 years on Land
Launched on Friday from Mattapoisett Harbor and sailed her 4.5 hours into a 18-25 head wind and steep Buzzard Bay chop about 15 miles, it took me and my Dad about 4.5 hours and we were pretty beat up but Karma Chameleon never once seemed phased. What an incredible boat. We put one reef in the main and a full 110 jib. This is her on her mooring in Padanaram Harbour next to our neighbor a CD25D.

You've got a pretty boat there. It must have taken some work to rehabilitate her. I'll soon be joining you in
Padanaram after a 20-year hiatus (just got an assignment north of the bridge). Though New Bedford is a fine
harbor, Padanaram is easier on the senses and you don't have to keep a wary eye for fishing ships and freighters.
Good luck- Jean

Thank you Jean, and good luck with your boat. The North side is great and very protected. It is also great to use the launch dock to pick up passengers, something I miss having on the south side. I wouldn't mind keeping her in New Bedford but the first thing my daughters like to do as soon as there on the boat is use it as there expensive swim platform, so the cleaner the water the better.

Looks fantastic! You did great work sprucing her up.
Now treat yourself to a pair of varnished teak shroud rollers on your outboard shrouds (I love them). They really complement the 27 well, and they prevent jib sheet chafe

You beat me by two years. CHASSEUR was on the hard for 12 years and then splashed after a year of work. I then sailed her for three years until I got a CD 30....28 then went to on the hard until this Spring when I took the 30 down to the Keys.
Just splashed CHASSEUR last Sat.

Re: CD27 Launch and sailed after 15 years on Land
Great Stuff Pete,
I got about 20-25 sails in this year, mostly day sails and spent about three overnights on the mooring. I am going to haul it on Monday and get a head start on 2019. I am shooting to launch mid April and hope to get 50-60 days on her. I would sail her every day if I could.
Enjoy,
