Swim ladder standoff cracked

Post by skipsmagic »

Hello,
I noticed this large crack in my standoff to my swim ladder. It is made of thin wall stainless tubing and I am considering replacing with a 1" hardwood dowel. Do you think it would hold up and be as strong as the current one.
I think it may be easier to manufacture myself then to try and source a part for a 25 year old ladder?

Thank you,

A good stainless welding shop may be able to correct that for you. I had a similar repair done at the local motorcycle shop.

Stay away from any shop related to boats, and it will be much cheaper.

I suppose it's the assumption that if you can afford to own a yacht, you must be wealthy. If you're doing welding for the average business owner down the street, you are likely to be somewhat more competitive.
