I like your boat, Tim - clean, simple and functional. Thanks for posting - Jean

Beautiful boat! I was just reading about the c-head last night. Did you keep the holding tank in the boat? Did you hook your outboard up using propane ?

Nice CD26! As a 27 owner, I admire the simplicity of that interior. having that open bulkhead and chart table really opens up the space down there. Nice icebox/yeti as well.. I have been considering doing something like that to my boat. How long will a block of ice last in that ?

Do you have the ability to raise or lower the mast alone with any of these boats through a hinged mast step or a tabernacle? I would need to be able to do this so that I could trailer it. How much time does it take to be ready to sail if this method is employed? How high do most of the Cape Dory 22s/25/26 boats sit on the trailer with the mast lowered? I have an HOA, and just curious as to how "visible" the boat would be in my back yard. My fence is 6'6" and I might be able to get away with a boat that is under 8' tall while on a trailer. If this isn't possible, it might be an unnecessary need to have it be trailerable, in which case I would just rent a slip.

There was a 20-gallon holding tank under the v-berth which was removed. This created a lot of storage space as well as removed a tank and hoses that did not smell good. The outboard is a 5hp Tohatsu that runs on propane. It pushes the boat at about 5.5 knots in flat water. It also fits in the cockpit lazarette when not being used for any length of time.

The Yeti worked really well. We had two blocks of ice last 4+ days when we sailed from Old Greenwich, CT to Newburyport, MA. I bet we could have squeezed out another day or two without opening it again. Aside from its ability to keep ice, we liked being able to bring it home with us to clean, ice up, and provision for another trip. We even cooled it down for a night beforehand with frozen soda bottles before loading it up with ice blocks and food.
