What to use to remove paint from deck, without damage

Don't forget to snap some photos while you work on that boat project, then share them here.

What to use to remove paint from deck, without damage

Post by sailingonu »

I have a 1974 Cape Dory Typhoon Weekender. The cockpit floor and the main deck is painted and does not have non-skid. The paint job looks to have several coats of different colors and is ugly. I want to get it back to a more safe and better look.

Another questions are lifelines an original part of the Typhoon Weekender?

Thanks for any and all recommendations.

I have used an Interlux product, something called Fiberglass Safe Paint Stripper. Follow the directions really closely for how long to leave it on -- it does attack gel coat, just not right away.
