Boston Harbor Islands Regatta

Post by jbenagh »

Although I feel a little guilty about missing the meeting in Mystic, Christine C is entered in BHIR this Saturday 9/16. Anyone else joining in? We haven't set a schedule but could be at Portuguese Cove at Peddick's on Fri night and/or Sat. Let us know.

As usual, wind is forecast from the east, light. Sounds like fog possible. I'm sure all the other weekends this fall will be perfect :)

Not the best Cape Dory breeze based on the forecast.

FYI, I just registered. Forecast has changed from cloudy to partly sunny and the day's high from 77 to 80. Hoping that the patchy fog is an overnight thing.

Sorry to miss the Annual Meeting.

I feel guilty that I am missing the meeting and the regatta. But, I have been sailing around for the last few weeks and that has been great. Best of luck with the BHIR. I hope the wind excedes the forecast!

We just decided that the conditions do not warrant sailing down. Looks too light with fog.
I give BHIR 2018 a 50/50 shot of seeing Christine C and crew.
Good luck, Neil!

We'll miss you.

Latest forecast shows patchy fog "in the morning," which I'm hoping means reduced visibility only from 0-dark-thirty until dawn.

Light air is a totally other issue... Sail Flow has wind at 2 knots, "gusting" to 3. I'm working on my strategy for the start, mostly assuming zero boat speed and calculating time/speed/distance just from current.
