Guest 6-volt anchor light LED converson
I have an old Guest 6-volt anchor light #452 that is hung from a halyard. They have long since been discontinued. Has anyone ever had any success finding a suitable LED replacement bulb for this anchor light?
Currently, what is in there now is a 1406 incandescent bulb with a BA9s miniature bayonet base.
Thanks.

Not familiar with that specific light, but searching for the BA9s bayonet base returned the following:
6v ba9s LED retrofit - superbrightLEDs.
superbrightLEDs.com is legit. I bought LED replacements for my silverado there.
Hope this helps.

I may be imagining something that doesn't exist.
A 6-volt bulb with a BA9s base and a 360 degree beam angle.

Is this what you're after? http://ariel-cd36.org/wordpress/?p=778 The bulb is still going strong, by the way.Bob Ohler wrote:I may be imagining something that doesn't exist.

I've got one of those. We originally named it Dimmy. I switched to an LED bulb and now it is named Dimmy More. It is much brighter, Steve.

I ordered a replacement bulb here.

It works well. Probably better than the original.
I ordered a replacement bulb for the reading lights in the cabin as well. It was better, more like a warm light as opposed to the sometimes too white LED's, than one I obtained from another major marine supplier.

I think of her as a bright and beautiful but rather petite actress, who doesn't make canned stew. Thank you, Steve.Markst95 wrote:Dimmy More. I love their Stew.

Re: Guest 6-volt anchor light LED converson
The restoration of the Guest anchor light is now complete.
Per Steve's suggestion, I ordered the LED 6-volt bulb. It works great.
I also replaced the rusted and nonworking switch with a short toggle switch that I installed with heat-shrink connectors. I sealed the perimeter of the switch with Goop (I had some in the shop), tightened the nut, and installed the rubber boot over the switch. Hopefully she will work for a longtime and the LED will be easier on the batteries as well. I always carry an oil lamp as my back up anchor light.
