CD 25 electrics
My recently-acquired CD 25 has a "Battery Tender" charging system for 24 volts. Is that the standard voltage for that year´s 25 ? If so, are all the lights 24 VDC, or is there some magic in the circuit ?

No,
12 volts is the norm.
The previous owner must have had (2) 12 volt batteries connected in series.
for charging purposes, but only one of the batteries was connected to your
boat's electrical system.
Workable.
Not a bad idea, but you definitely need 2 batteries if you wish to use that charger.

The above scenario is only speculation, but I doubt that it would be a good idea.Richard wrote:The previous owner must have had (2) 12 volt batteries connected in series.

I suspect that this arrangement would result in chronic overcharging of one battery and undercharging of the other and premature failure of both.
