How many 26D's were produced?

Apparently the answer is none. Check by clicking on "About Cape Dorys" at the top of this page. There were, however, 187 CD25Ds proudced maybe that's what you were thinking of?

While I cannot tell you exactly how many CD26D's were made, I can tell you that the answer is at least one. There is one for sale in yard at Herrington Harbour Marina North in Deale, MD. Dana Arenius, a reader and poster on this BB (who just so happens to own a CD26)once told me that the CD26D's are extremely rare. The CD26 used the exact same plan as the CD25D. Hope this clears things up a little for you.

True enough..but of those or in addition to those, how many were diesel equipped from the factory (the 26D version)? The info does not parse this out.

I have keep an informal mental count....so far I think I am up to about 4 separate ones that I have heard of....(this is more than I thought).....In the earlier years this option was not available so you find the greatest possibility in the 86+ years....

What a great boat. Just the right size for me.
