Hands-down, I would argue that LaVida is probably the most well-equipped and maintained 33 Cape Dory around. In the 23 years of my stewardship, she has undergone annual refits with major gear upgrades right up until this last spring.
I am in the process of putting together my asking price and a list of equipment. I will be posting the link to that information shortly.

I would agree that LaVida is a solid CD33. I spent over a week aboard last Spring helping Rit move her North from Key West. Rit has added some nice comforts, and everything from engine to ground tackle was great. I already have my favorite CD so I'm not in this game, but whoever gets her will be happy.

"Lavida" has just returned from a 8 month cruise, from Lake Ontario to the Key West, Fl and back.
On recent haulout (10/8/15) LaVida had no mechanical issues and all gear was in great working order. Covered, heated and winterized, she is easily accessible for your viewing.
She is currently sitting on the custom and optional 3 axle, 20 ton trailer, available for inspection and immediate sale.















History

Although of 1981 vintage, “LaVida” has enjoyed continuous upgrades throughout our 23 years of ownership.
When we purchased her in 1992 we began a complete refit of all of her systems. Our refit philosophy was to extend her cruising range and enhance her offshore capabilities.
Our continued upgrades have resulted in an enhanced, sea kindly vessel designed to excel as a solo/shorthanded sailor vessel, with long range capability and ease of maintenance.
We have chosen only the best equipment and the highest standard of installation.
In essence “LaVida” is a much younger boat, the fact that her homeport is on Lake Ontario (fresh water) means she has not seen the corrosion normally found on a vessel that has spent its life in saltwater.
In the many years of ownership, she has so exceeded our expectations. Now as our family grows, we purchased a larger boat..
