Closed today on a '79 CD 28, hull no. 225. She will be named NONSLY after my wife's ancestral home in Kopervik on Karmoy Island in western Norway. She will be moored in Duxbury, MA. She appears to have lead most of her life in Maine and Massachusetts and her prior names were RACCOON, WHALES' SONG and ITHAKA. She surveyed well, but needs some updating and TLC. Thanks to all who provided answers to my inquiries during the purchasing process. No doubt, I will be asking many more questions in the coming months.

Good choice! We bought Starfish CD28 #280 last spring and have been very happy with our choice. A seaworthy and very pretty boat. You'll love her!

Great Boat!!

I purchased my 28 last February in Long Beach Ca. and had it shipped up to Anacortes Wa. Number of our boat is #227. If you have any questions, or would like other mis-information give me a hollar at 360 679 2300.

Did you use a national or local firm to ship your boat. If national, who and what did you think of them (and ANY comments, prep included).

I used Dudley Boat and Trailer Trans.,Inc out of Fife, WA. Phone number is 1 800 426 8120.

I understand that they deliver for Bayliner, and I know up and down the west coast! Whether they travel east and west, you will have to call them for information.,

Their rigs are some of the best I have seen, and their drivers know how to carry a boat!!

While in route, they kept me informed where my boat was, as well as the time when it would arrive.

It actually arrived two hours early, but waiting for the lift was no problem, and no extra charge.

If you can use them, you will not be sorry!!

Be sure, however, that the boat is properly prepped before loading on the truck. It helps the mover greatly. For an example, my mast and boom was wrapped in bubble wrap, as well as the stays in a separate bubble wrap. The yard in Long Beach also took extensive pictures before prepping the boat as well as in process.

Sure helped me when I got the boat in Anacortes! I still use these pictures as a reference!
