Allied Greenwich 24 Sailboats ~ Seeking owner's input

Post by *AJ* »

Hello CDSOA Members,

New member here gathering research information on the Allied Boat Company's Greenwich 24 Sailboat.

Knowing the CD25 and the G24 have a common history, I hope this forum will allow me to connect with Greenwich 24 sailboat owners. I would like to discuss maintenance, upgrades, modifications, pros & cons, etc with this model.

I just completed reading through the 30 pages of 'matches' here on this forum concerning the G24 and would like to know if there is any record of production numbers for this boat. I specifically would like to hear how owners addressed design issues, such as weight distribution to avoid scuppers filling the cockpit with water and motor well issues while underway.

I find the overall 'look' of the boat very appealing ~

Any Greenwich 24 owners 'out there'? I would love to hear from you ~

My two 25s where both CD25s but I have also owned an Allied Princess.

mgphl52 I posted an inquiry there over 2 weeks ago, to date, I have had no replies from Greenwich 24 owners. My post on that Yahoo User Group appeared to start a thread on the design aspects of the larger, cruising Allied sailboat models.

I also posted my inquiry on Sailnet.com's Sailboat/Design/Construction board and Boatdesign.net's Sailboats board. Neither have generated a response.

I look forward to connecting with Greenwich 24 owners through this board.

Thank you for directing me to that Yahoo Group, I appreciate your input.

Again, a former CD25 owner, not a Greenwich 24 owner. I don't recall water entering the cockpit through the scuppers. I do recall the scuppers clogging with crud that accumulates in every cockpit. Keep a sink plunger on-board, to clear the scuppers if they get clogged. I tried using screens, and that just made the screens clog. I gave up on the screen idea.
