Lowering/Raising mast on CD25
I'm about to move the boat over land and have two options...
1. Let the boatyards assist with raising and lowering stick before after hauling at the tune of several hundred dollars.
or
2. properly use a gin pole and some block and tackle to raise lower stick myself.
Any input on those in CD25's that have done so with moderate success?

Re: Lowering/Raising mast on CD25
I have done this solo but I was about 15 years younger...
The key was a 4-to-1 purchase boom vang with lots of line.
The jib halyard was cleated off so that it was just less than the length of the luff.
Then the 4-to-1 was attached between the tack and the halyard.
After detaching the lowers shrouds and forestay and loosing the uppers,
slowly walk the mast aft while easing out on the 4-to-1 tackle.
Once you get to point where you can step into the cockpit, it's pretty much done.
Raising is the same but in reverse...

You say the TACK ... where exactly would this be located (attachment to the bow?)

Yes, I always had a snap shackle on the bow fitting to attach the tack of hank-on sails.

Re: Lowering/Raising mast on CD25
I just stepped the mast on my recently acquired CD25. If you have a couple strong guys, it's no problem. I found pulling on the jib halyard was a nice insurance policy but not really necessary. Just put the aft pin in the mast step, and make sure the backstay and aft lowers are connected then go for it. FYI, we did it on the water as well and not an issue. Good luck!

Re: Lowering/Raising mast on CD25
I have a 25D, PO fabricated a gin pole which works great single handed. It works like this
Gin pole attaches to the base of the mast forward side. It attaches by means of a pin into brackets on a wooden block surrounding the base of the mast which is in turn secured by bolts through the block (not through the mast).
Jib halyard attaches to the end of the gin pole.
Winch on the gin pole attaches by 2 part purchase to the bow just aft of the fore stay (I have roller furling but it doesnt make a difference).
Make sure back stay and aft lowers are attached and slack, then crank up the winch on the gin pole.
Easy peasy.
