Towing a CD25?

Post by Mike »

I am considering buying a CD25. I would like to keep it on a trailer in the winter and tow it to various areas during the summer. I own a Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 with a max. tow rating of 5600 lbs, is this possible and how much time does it take to rerig the boat?
Thanks Mike

Sounds to me like you don't have enough truck. Stay in the flatlands and you might get by. You will definitely need sway and torsion bars. I tow an 8000# 34' Airstream travel trailer with a Ford F-350 Diesel Powerstroke, Dual wheel, crew cab, which by the way are for sale or trade for a trawler or a Pearson 365, and I cruise at 70 mph with ease at 12 mpg. You should at least have an F-150 with a Triton V 8 or V 10. Those mountains out west would be a real challenge for a Ford Ranger like yours.
