Chesapeake Bay Cruise (Cape Dory SOA) May 30 - June 6

Post by Jerry Hetherington »

The Cape Dory Sailboat Owners Association will hold its annual Chesapeake Bay cruise from Saturday, May 30 to June 6, 1998. Last year's cruise was a great success with plenty of good company and typical spring sailing on the Bay.

The cruise will kick off on Saturday with a raft-up on the Rhode River with subsequent layovers on the South River, Annapolis, the Magothy River, the Rock Hall/Swan Creek area and on Mill Creek in Whitehall Bay.

The survivors will rendezvous at Galesville on the West River for the closing dinner. As is the custom, cruise prizes will be awarded to the brave, the tenacious, and the nautically challenged.

Mark your calendars. For you sailors with boats not on the Bay, we'll try to place you with a boat on the cruise. If you can't manage the whole week, join the fleet along the way. CDSOA members should look out for a flyer in early May. At that time we'll need a head count for the cruise and the awards dinner.

We will trailer our 25D to Rescue, Va. in early May and sail to Washington, DC. What is required to join your cruise?
