Cape dory typhoon hull ID numbers?
Hello, hoping one of you knowledgeable Cape Dory owners can help me with a question. I just bought a 1972 or 1973? Typhoon Hull #400. Can't seem to find the hull ID on the transom, and am having trouble getting the boat registered here in NC. Any help/advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

It's possible that you won't find one. They weren't required until late 1972. If this is the case you can get the state to issue one. Then you cut it into the transom. I have used a Dremel to do it.

Has the boat been painted? If so, some minor excavation of filler, primer and paint might well reveal the hull ID number.
