I wondering if any has run into a seperation between the wall of the v berth and the outside of the hull at the deck? Is this serious? Can, or does it need to be repaired? Boat is '77.

I'd like a little more detail on your problem. I suspect that you are talking about the bulkhead between the main cabin and the head on the port side. I have heard many reports, on this board and elsewhere, about this bulkhead comming unattached at the top and working out toward the centerline of the boat. If taht's the problem reply to this post and I'll tell you how I fixed mine.

John,
I am dealing with that issue right now. Bruce has offered his solution, and it sounds like a good one. I expect to have an estimate from a boatyard in a week or so. I will post that information when I get it. I would also appreciate hearing of any information you dig up. Where is the boat you are looking at?

If any one else would like to offer comments, here is the issue:
The bulkheads on the port side have seperated from the liner. The forward bulkead is out of place less than a quarter inch. The aft bulkhead has move inward about three quarters of an inch. The aft bulkhead has compressed the raised floor liner, where the head sits, about a half inch at the interior edge of the bulkhead. The ceiling liner is showing stress crack lines where the bulkead should be holding it up. There are no visible signs of stress on the cabin top around the mast step.
