Guess what this is.

Guess what this is.
Guess what the object is leaning up against the Corvette. If you look in the background you'll notice a CD25 so this photo actually has some Cape Dory relevance, tenuous perhaps, but relevance nonetheless.

Re: Guess what this is.
Something you are glad not to have swimming around when you in a dinghy.
Large shark, tail fin, thrasher, maybe.
I don't really know but the thing must have been huge, Steve.

Re: Guess what this is.
let's try killer whale dorsal fin
Re: Guess what this is.
Steve got it! It's the tail of a Thresher shark. The tail is nearly as long as the body on these fish. I've eaten Thresher shark and it is better than swordfish. A friend was careless when trying to boat one a few years back and was whipped by the tail. It left quite a bruise which lasted for weeks.Steve Laume wrote:Something you are glad not to have swimming around when you in a dinghy.

Re: Guess what this is.
The real questions surround the fact that it is now leaning on your Vette. Just where and how does one end up in possession of such a fin?
Have you been out harpooning?
Nice one, Steve.
