Well Here is a New Project

Post by fatbug57 »

Well picked up my new project today and it should be a good one. You know free projects are always the best. This little girl belonged to the widow of General Charles "Hondo" Campbell, it was his personal boat but has not been used in about 15 years. Hondo passed this pass February and his wife never sailed so told a friend to find someone to take her and I happen to be that lucky person. Hopefully I will have her back on the water by next year. She is very solid, no soft spots but needs full paint, teak replaced and new pads made and of course sheets and sails. I will be getting on here and asking alot of questions so be kind.

Bob, Very nice. I notice the Florida registration. Where do you sail? I've been wanting to find a resonable priced Typhoon here on the SW side of FL with trailer. Tough to come by down here. Keep us posted on your project.

The little Typhoon originally came from Florida many years ago but it was in Shreveport Louisiana at the Shreveport Yacht Club when I found it. I am going to start stripping her when I get back from work and hopefully she will be done by Spring of next year. With the way I work, I have about 30 days at a time to do what needs to be done so hopefully that Spring deadline want be wrong. Thanks and I do get to Florida from time to time, love it there. I will keep this post updated as she progresses.
