Unfortunately, the final decisions were made over the phone, so I never got a formal order that had the part numbers etc. Generally I bought 2 top mounted MT-2 control ends (specify double or triple), 2 comparable blocks to mount on the existing car, and 2 rubber stops to install on the track that are intended to stop a run-away car.Jim_B wrote:Matt - do you recall the specific parts-numbers you got from Garhauer? I am not sure if your boat is a CD-36 or 33, but if it is and you wanted the same parts that I bought, my guess is that you could reference my name and "the recent order for a Cape Dory 36" as a solid starting point.
Garhauer is a semi-custom shop when it comes to this type of need. Your best bet is to call them and ask for Guido. He is their main guy for travelers - very good. That said, if you have something very specific in mind, he may not quite see it in the same light, partially because he knows best and partially because they are not a full custom shop. Regardless, I am confident that it will be a good solution.
Alternately, you could provide them with the track/etc measurements that he is sure to request and they will undoubtedly come up with a solid solution.
