Foggy Morning
This was taken last summer in McMicking Inlet on Campania Island in Northern British Columbia. It did clear into a beautiful day.

Tom:
I have no idea what anyone else might say but I say "gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous". When I think of (and dream of) anchorages in BC that photo is what I think of. I would give a lot to be on a Cape Dory in those conditions.
Thank you for sharing.

Great picture. Is that a Bufflehead off your starboard bow?

Re: Foggy Morning
Great eye Jim! Yes that is a bufflehead......well, sort of. In fact it is a decoy which serves as our anchor buoy. It is less obtrusive than an orange buoy, and makes a more attractive anchorage. His name is Waldo, since we are often looking around to see where he is. He also provides entertainment. Occasional kayakers have tried to sneak up on him to see how close they can get. More frequently bald eagles think he would be a tasty snack. When the eagle talons are too effective, and he begins to sink, we have his mate stored in a cockpit locker, and she can carry on until we patch up his holes. Serious bird watchers get excited when they see him, since they are supposed to spend their summers on inland lakes, and here is one still on the coast! We chose him because he is smaller than most other ducks, and takes less storage room.
