I'm looking for a source for a replacement battery switch for my DC panel. It's four position - Off - Port - Both - Stbd. The switch is marked Salzer 432 but apparently it comes in a lot of configurations.
I located Salzer USA in Mesa, AZ. Google them if you need the phone number.
The part number on the switch was no longer valid, but the switch type is still made. An engineer there worked with me to specify the exact switch configuration. It was assembled to order in the factory in Germany, shipped over in their weekly shipment, and arrived here two weeks after the order was placed. Total cost $164 including shipping. Pretty impressive.
Curious. $164 seems a bit of a premium price for a battery switch. Most I've seen by reliable manufacturers cost more in the vicinity of $50. Wondering what is special about this switch that commands such a price?

The switches made specifically for battery banks are less expensive. They can carry higher current, but are not cosmetically suited for a DC power panel. I thought about using one but it would have required modifying the panel and might not have fit.
This is an industrial high current switch, and then it's a custom configuration with two gangs paralleled for higher current capacity. Anyway, it's the one Cape Dory used for the DC panel.
