CD 22 # 161 relaunching after Hurricane Season
Re-launching CD 22 # 161 at Pelican Point. The local dock committee (Louisiana Brown Pelicans) gave their grudging approval.

Thanks for the compliment. The result of a 2 year restoration for a youth sailing program. Took her down to bare decks, refinished with epoxy primer and Hatteras Off White 450H polyurethane top coat with contrasting non-skid areas. PPG Medium Blue bottom paint with 450H Dark Blue boot stripe and metallic gold cove stripe. Teak stripped, sanded, cleaned and finished with Honey Teak system. Winches and seacocks rebuilt. New sail covers and 6 horse Yamaha kicker.ariasis wrote:Gorgeous.
I see that you sail a Typhoon. Always admired those boats. Very classy Alberg design.

The CD22 profile just looks right to me. The proportions are ideal for a small yacht. Great restoration.

Thanks! It was a lot of work, but well worth it in the end.Jim Walsh wrote:The CD22 profile just looks right to me. The proportions are ideal for a small yacht. Great restoration.
It is a nice profile isn't it? It's something that some other small cruisers aspire to and don't quite get. (Too tall, too boxy, too many angles, etc.) The price for that look is a rather narrow interior compared to some 22 footers, but Cape Dory makes the most of it, and it's adequate for a coastal cruising yacht, as long as you don't clutter it up with too much stuff. What I really like about the CD22 is the way it sails! It feels like there's a much bigger boat under your feet and it doesn't dance around.

Fine shape. Not much competition for slip space at this point!

Lake Murray? Do you know Trapper? She sails a Pearson Ensign named "BABE"
