weather cloth

Post by moctrams »

Have any members had weather cloths made for their Cape Dory? I have a dodger, but want a weather cloth for the stern.

I measured and sewed some up myself over the first winter we owned Femme. Leave a 1/2 inch space between the stanchions, deck and upper lifeline. I used some Sunbrella and V-69 thread. An old Necci sewing machine, on which I sewed up a set of Typhoon sails, did a nice job. You can mostly see them below. For western Lake Superior they've come in very, very handy. Easiest project you'll ever do I reckon.
