Annual Meeting Report, Alberg Fellow Named

A preliminary report of the Annual Meeting has been published in the Masthead. If you missed the meeting you missed a great event. Everything was wonderful except my photography. I took a look at the "Masthead" but noted the following;

"While we welcome anyone to visit the site, most articles are restricted to members of the association. Membership information is available by going to our website http://www.capedory.org. Members of the association will receive a password that will allow access to protected articles."

I tried my password to no avail. What's the deal?

Greg, Congrats on your Award. As a long-time military guy, I always read between the lines of a Citation to somehow grasp the amplitude of an individuals actions in the situation. You exemplified in those conditions under great stress and danger the ultimate sacrifice of a mariner at sea and showed all of us what it means to "run to the sound of the guns" (Army translation). Very deserving and an awesome legacy. I'm sure you'd credit your Cape Dory for being the most seaworthy platform for such rescue but your determination to withstand Nature herself to help save lives is all we need to see. Thanks!

Assuming that you have the case sensitive password typed in correctly you should be able to view protected articles if your security settings allow cookies (medium high setting on my browser). Please let me know if this works or if you continue to have problems.

In addition to being a genuine hero, Greg is a genuinely nice guy. He's also extremely modest--he was lured to the Annual Meeting under false pretenses. What a tale he had to tell! It was a pleasure to meet him.

As I tell everyone I give thanks to God and Carl Alberg. My crew were very experienced and the boat performed as an Alberg design should, not surprising but pleasing when you find when you are in those conditions the reasons you sail a Cape Dory are well founded.
