CD 26 for sale - Southern NJ

Post by swhfire21 »

We've decided to look at a move up and are placing Pleasant Journey up for sale. She is in very good condition and is set up for overnighting at the dock or on the hook. Asking $10,500 OBO.

Numerous upgrades, repairs and improvements in past three years (search "Cape Dory Project Descriptions & Project Photos" for more details). These include:

- Plumbing upgrades include replacement of head, all sanitary hoses, potable water hoses/pump, and raw water hoses.

- Added a 15A, 110 V electrical system with two receptacles and 20 A battery charger. This is a very unusual feature for a 26.

- Upgraded DC system includes new LED Nav lights, LED cabin lights, new breaker panel, new mast wiring, 4 DC plugs in cabin, & 2 batteries (installed 2015, 180 Ah total).

- Rigging includes roller furling genoa, double reefed main with jiffy reefing, lazy jacks and boom vang. Sails inspected, repaired and modified by Eggers Sail Loft in 2014/15.

- Raymarine depth finder, Raymarine ST2000 tiller pilot, bulkhead mounted compass, tiller extension, dodger frame, dodger (needs new windows), delta anchor and line, 3 bumpers, replacement gusher bilge pump (in box), 4 wearable PFDs, 1 throwable cushion, 1 horseshoe PFD, flares and gas bottle horn.

The interior is standard with newer cushions and alcohol stove. Includes working wall clock, barometer, oil lamp, and table on removable pedestal.

Outboard is 2006 Tohatsu with 2 portable fuel tanks. Seloc repair manual for motor included.

Sorry about glare in photos, I guess the light passing through the fog that was burning off induced it.

You can IM or email me via the board for further info. Also I can be reached at six oh nine - 661 - two eight six zero.

I have had a few inquiries regarding the boat and have adjusted the price to $11,300 OBO. As anyone who has followed or ran across my postings would know all of the rigging, sails, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems onboard are in a worry free, full working state and in many cases are very new.

The only known problem is a small area on the port deck (at a life line stanchion) with wet core. The area is currently patched over with vinyl board to control further water ingress and I have been sailing the boat with it. The deck in the area is solid, however there were some localized cracks in the immediate area of the stanchion. The fiberglass shop that did the work on my previous Ty (see postings) estimated the repair cost at $1,000 - 1,500 if they did the work.

CD 26's are few and far between, as less than 80 were made. It's even rarer to find them in this good of condition.

I look forward to finding her next owner.

The boat will go on the hard the weekend of 11/7. If she is not sold I plan to repair the small deck issue and put her back up for sale in the spring at a new price.

If interested I can be contacted by PM, email or at 609-661-2860. Asking $10,500 OBO.

Steve,
Congratulations on the sale of your CD26. Perhaps the new owner will find his/her way to the CDSOA board. Good luck with the Morgan.
