Typhoon 18 with traveler and car

I have recently inherited a Cape Dory Typhoon that is ready to go except I'm missing the parts that attach to the boom and the traveler and car. Does anyone have a picture of the hardware and how it's setup so I can purchase these parts and properly rig it?

Nice looking Ty! Mine does not have a traveler for the main, and I don't think they came with one. If you post photos of your areas of concern I would be happy to comment on how they compare to mine. Mine is worn, but otherwise unmolested. Enjoy your Typhoon!

Your outboard bracket board has been modified (lowered) to accommodate a short shaft outboard motor. Your stern cleat us been refastened at a 45(?) degree angle. The original mount is parallel to the keel. The traveler is added, and is missing the two end blocks, although I see a block on the end of the taffrail that may have been involved. Others will hopefully comment on that. Earlier advice to look at "Eye Candy" makes good sense.

If You want to use the original Cam Cleat you could go with something like this-

Hooked to the traveler and this hooked to the boom

The line is tied to the becket on the bottom block- run up through the block on the boom and down through the traveler block and then out to the cam cleat

1/4" line would be strong enough but use 5/16 as its easier on your hands

you could also double up on the blocks to get more mechanical advantage but probably don't need it on the Ty

these are Ronstan Blocks and are fairly inexpensive-

Interesting traveler addition....can't tell what the piece to the right of the stern cleat is though.

The fixture just to the right of the stern cleat....looks like a semi-flush....stern light/pole socket...normally used on powerboats.

You're right it's for a light. Thank you for your help. At least I now have an idea. Thank you for posting pics of the pulleys. I'm sure I'll have other questions along the way.
