I have a nifty little engine for sale that would be good for a Typhoon.
Evinrude Yachtwin 4hp long shaft outboard.
Kind of works, kind of needs some TLC...see my add on Craigslist:

Re: Evinrude Yachtwin 4hp long shaft outboard
These are GREAT motors! My Ty came with a non-running Johnson version of this motor. If the compression is good and it makes a spark then it's easy to turn into a reliable motor. All parts are available and reasonable; even used components on eBay. A hundred bucks is a good price IMHO. No affiliation; just think it's a good opportunity for a Typhoon owner who wants vintage power. BTW...I will only use E zero gas in mine. As such should last as long as I do.

Re: Evinrude Yachtwin 4hp long shaft outboard
Thanks for the "endorsement", Rich. We got it with our new Typhoon. Had it running pretty well until we put it on the boat. Used a different outboard for sailing this summer, and decided to go electric in the future.
It needs some tuning to get it to the "one-pull-and-off-she-goes" condition...
