CD36 TIARA in Sunday's Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race!
CD36 TIARA is running in the 2015 Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race this Sunday. Follow along as Bob Dugan (Navigator), Jeff Giles (Watch Captain) and Jeff Benagh (Watch Captain), and I head across the Gulf of Maine and up the foggy coast of Nova Scotia on a 366 nautical mile adventure aboard CD36 #135! Huge thanks to the Boston Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron for hosting Tiara & the 67+/- other yachts in this year's MHOR! Wish us luck!
Tiara's tracking & messaging link via DeLorme/Iridium will become active this Sunday. Click to follow/message us at sea: https://share.delorme.com/TIARA

Wind and sea forecasts are looking pretty mild. Not exactly winning weather for a Cape Dory but it should make for a nice ride. Have fun, Steve.

Thanks All!
TIARA & crew completed the race, and have arrived back at home port. Huge thanks to an awesome crew: Bob Dugan (CD34d EMERALD ), Jeff Benagh (CD30 CHRISTINE C), and Jeff Giles (CD25D GLORIOUS) for making that adventure possible. We all took lots of pictures & video, and will post that here soon too.
The link below connects to the tracking/messaging system I set up for the trip, and shows both our outbound race, and the return trip including notes we've sent along the way. Rounding Cape Sable was a real bear at 2am in pitch dark, thick fog, drizzle, raging currents, tacking duels with fishing boats, and a hitch hiking bird in the cockpit. The following day's strong wind warning (against the Nova Scotia current) added another level of excitement, ripping the radar post out of the deck in 9' seas! But in the end, nothing compares to flying along in a Cape Dory at over 8kts on Bay of Fundy currents! Link to Tiara's track website: https://share.delorme.com/TIARA
Again, thanks for all the support. That was a GREAT adventure!

The adventure sounds great. Having the radar post ripped out of the deck in heavy weather was best experienced with a full crew aboard. Better than having discovered that flaw when short or singlehanded.

My research has revealed that a CD34d looks suspiciously like a Pacific Seacraft
